Gash Bridge, Tunnel and Building Engineering Ltd. is proud to have provided the construction engineering and detailed design for this unique project.
Completed last year this bridge is the last stop of the new extension to the Jerusalem Red Line Light Rail Transit (LRT).

With a maximum width of 20 meters and over 230 meters in length, this twelve-span bridge will be used as an LRT station that will service Hadassah Hospital.
The method of construction consists of a post tensioned cast-in-place slab on falsework (scaffolding). The width of the bridge changes when Track No.1 branches into two tracks and platforms for passengers are added.

Due to large horizontal seismic forces that could act on the bridge during an earthquake, isolation devices are required in order to reduce the effects on the piers and foundations of the bridge. A Time History Analysis was performed due to the nonlinear characteristics of the bridge bearings and unique bridge geometry.
