The Yavneh-Plesht section railway constitutes section 3 of the Rishon LeZion Bnei Darom railway line. The railroad route in this section begins in the Yavneh Interchange area, continues south parallel to and east of Highway No. 4. The design included a “dig and cover” tunnel with a reinforced concrete arch section 14 m wide, for two railroads and a total length of 750 m. The tunnel was built near highway 4, which necessitated construction on sharp slopes near the road. At the entrance and exit of the tunnel, retaining walls with a total area of approximately 5,000 square meters and a 70-meter long railway bridge were designed to cross the tracks over Nahal Yavne.
