The project included strengthening and widening a bridge built in the 1940s, over a wide river and flood plains. The original bridge which was 8.35 m wide was expanded to 13.5 m. In the restoration and strengthening works, a variety of technologies were used, including the cross-section of reinforced concrete boxes and rectangular beams, the addition of an external step, the carriage lug chisels and the installation of steel lugs on top of the box section for the purpose of casting a new carriage plate.
The 40.5 m long tread sections include a lug on each side with a section of ‘floating plate’ between them rectangular prefab foundations, on which a cast plate is placed.
