About the project

The Yavneh–Pleshet railway section is the third section of the Rishon Lezyon Bnei Darom railway line. The route for this section stretched from Yavne Interchange due south, in parallel and to the east of Route 4.
The plans included an arch-section cut & cover tunnel made of 14 meter-wide reinforced concrete designed for two railway tracks, at a total distance of 750 meters. The tunnel was excavate adjacent to Route 4, which required roadside construction on steep slopes. The tunnel’s entrance and exit feature retaining walls covering a total area of 5,000 m2, and a 70 meter-long railway bridge for crossing the Yavne stream.
